Celia Gorman is a freelance science journalist and video editor based out of New York. She’s a regular contributor to Leafly magazine, covering cannabis science, politics and policy—including stories on pharmaceutical substitution, psilocybin-assisted therapy, cannabis withdrawal, and whether cops can really smell cannabis in your car. Her recent video clients include Quanta Magazine. She is also a word wrangler for Denny Mountain Media.
Celia holds a master’s in digital journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, where she focused on multimedia and science. She previously worked as an Associate Editor at tech magazine IEEE Spectrum, where she edited an award-winning video section. She was honored for her news-breaking and viral videos by the American Society of Business Publication Editors, the American Society of Magazine Editors, and the Association of Media and Publishing. She also received accolades for her work developing IEEE Spectrum’s social media presences.
